Reports are suggesting that Napoli will ponder making a bid for Villarreal’s Giuseppe Rossi before the transfer window closes.
Rossi is said to be keen on a move to Italy after his Spanish club were surprisingly relegated last season.
Milan have been paired in recent weeks, but stories on Wednesday are claiming that the Azzurri are seriously thinking about an offer.
Nevertheless, the transfer would not be without its complications as the Azzurri regular is currently recovering from knee ligament damage and will be sidelined until 2013.
Saying that, Rossi may be a tempting gamble for the Stadio San Paolo outfit given that his price tag has been slashed over the last 12 months.
A year ago the Spanish club wanted around €25m after Juventus showed an interest, but the player could now be netted for a fee of around €10m.
