Malaga’s Enzo Maresca is on the verge of a return to Italy after Sampdoria made a bid for his services.
The newly promoted outfit are keen on the 32-year-old and a deal is said to be very close for the midfielder.
Maresca last played in Italy during the 2004-05 campaign when he was with Fiorentina. He’s since played for Sevilla, Olympiacos and his current Spanish club.
A former Italian Under-21 international, he has also appeared for West Brom, Juventus, Bologna and Piacenza.
The proposed deal could be wrapped up by the end of the week.
