Arsenal confirmed they have agreed terms with Manchester United for Robin Van Persie, ending Juventus interest in the player.
The Dutch international’s contract expires in June 2013 and he made it clear he would not be signing an extension.
Juve were long linked with the player, but would not reach his £25m asking price.
“Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United,” read a statement on the club website.
“Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.”
Juventus had already started to turn their focus towards other targets, such as Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko and Athletic Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente.
