Francesco Lodi has effectively killed off the idea of a Milan switch by insisting Catania will decide his future.
The deep lying playmaker is reportedly of interest to the Rossoneri as they attempt to remodel their midfield following the departures of Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Mark Van Bommel. And although he has admitted the rumours make him proud, Neapolitan Lodi has stressed that he remains loyal to Catania, the club he owes a debt of gratitude to for signing him from lower league Frosinone and giving him a chance in Serie A.
“It's an honour to be paired with Milan,” the 28-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. “It stimulates me to do even better. But the President does what he believes is right and my future is in the hands of Catania.”
Elefanti President Antonino Pulvirenti has already described Lodi as untouchable on the transfer market.
The former Udinese man was Catania's top goal creator and scorer last season, netting nine for himself and laying on another seven.
