Eduardo Vargas has told Napoli to give him regular first team football or send him out on loan to another club.
The Chilean joined the Azzurri in January from Universidad De Chile, but failed to score in only 13 appearances for the outfit.
“I just want to play football,” the forward told Radio ADN. “Otherwise I’ll ask the club to send me out on loan somewhere.
“We are in discussions with Napoli and we’re looking to understand what the best thing to do is.”
Vargas is a 22-year-old forward who struggled against the competition of Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi last term.
Lavezzi has since been sold to Paris Saint-Germain, but the club have also recalled Lorenzo Insigne from Pescara who has enjoyed an impressive pre-season in attack.
