The Swede had been on the verge of a transfer to Lazio when the deal collapsed earlier this week, even with the option of a straight swap with Modibo Diakitè.
“I considered things along with the directors and the club, so we have decided to keep him with us,” the Coach told Sportmediaset.
“We have a vast squad and must try to reduce it. After those sales, we will look at a few incoming options so we can have more alternatives to our playing style.
“However, as I repeat, Granqvist will not be leaving Genoa.”
