Francesco Totti gives his tribute to Roma President Franco Sensi, who died four years ago today.
The club patron and father of former President Rosella Sensi died on August 17, 2008, ending his 15-year reign in charge of the club.
“On this day four years ago Franco Sensi left us,” wrote captain Totti on his official website.
“I shared a large part of my career and my successes with him, including the Scudetto in 2001.”
Totti was one of the pall-bearers for Sensi’s funeral in Rome.
“On this day, my thoughts go out to him and to ‘General’ Ciro Di Martino, a great friend of the President and Vice-President of Roma.”
Di Martino passed away on July 5 at the age of 87. He had been President, Vice-President and CEO of AS Roma at different times and was nicknamed ‘The General.’
