Andrea Stramaccioni expects more Inter signings this summer and insists Douglas Maicon “is the best in the world, but we’ll have to see what happens.”
The Nerazzurri beat Tunisian side Bisertin 3-0 last night in a friendly to prepare for their Europa League play-off with Romanians Vaslui.
“Vaslui are opponents to fear, as they eliminated Lazio in the group phase last season and the fact this is a play-off makes it a dangerous test,” said Stramaccioni.
Maicon had been left off the UEFA squad list for the preliminary round, fuelling reports he was on the transfer market, but the rght-back is included this time.
“In my view Maicon is the best in the world, but obviously there are different evaluations to be made, as there is more than just fondness or monetary value.
“All of Inter cares about the Brazilian, as he is a fantastic lad. We’ll have to see what happens. This Inter side does need to be completed, that is beyond doubt.
“Something will certainly come in before August 31, in fact I’d say before August 26.”
