Andrea Poli is happy to be back at Sampdoria after Inter opted against taking up their option to sign him.
The midfielder spent last season on loan with the Nerazzurri and they were predicted to complete his transfer this summer.
However, the two clubs could not agree a fee and the new Italian international is now set to star at Marassi again.
“It’s true, I did expect Inter to take up their option on me,” the 22-year-old, who played in 20 games for the San Siro giants, noted.
“However, Sampdoria boss Ciro Ferrara then made me understand that he wanted me in his Samp first team and I’m happy to be back.
“I also have to thank the fans who made me understand that I have returned ‘home’ for the way they welcomed me at our presentation.”
