Napoli forward Eduardo Vargas could be targeted by Spanish club Espanyol before the transfer window closes.
Vargas’ future at the Stadio San Paolo is unclear after a lack of regular first team opportunities since his arrival in January.
He recently suggested that he would ask the Azzurri to loan him out to another outfit should he not be a stable part of boss Walter Mazzarri’s plans.
The Catalan outfit are reportedly keen to take advantage and are, according to La Tercera, preparing a €400,000 offer to take the 22-year-old for the duration of 2012-13.
The Spanish club would also agree to pay a majority of his €1.2m salary.
