Walter Gargano has touched down in Milan ahead of his move from Napoli to Inter. “I’m joining a great club.”
The midfielder is set to undergo his medical in northern Italy after the two teams agreed a deal for the Uruguayan last night.
“I’m happy to be here,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I’m joining a great club. They wanted me here and I’ll do my best to repay Inter’s faith in me.
“Am I afraid of the competition for a place in the team? No, I’m never scared.”
Gargano will join the Beneamata on a €1.5m loan deal, with an option to buy clause set at €5m next summer.
“The Napoli fans will always remain in my heart,” he continued. “It was beautiful to play for Napoli, but I’m now starting a new adventure with Inter and I hope to do well.
“Our objective is to always aim for the top because this is a great side.”
