Milan striker Alexandre Pato has sustained another thigh injury in training today, so he’s expected to miss the season opener with Sampdoria.
The Brazilian missed most of last term with a series of muscular problems and his appearance at the Trofeo Berlusconi on Sunday was his first San Siro match in six months.
The Rossoneri released a statement this afternoon confirming Pato had suffered “a problem to the left thigh” and will undergo tests over the next few days.
It is not clear how bad the damage is, but according to reports it could prompt Milan to run to the transfer market for potential back-ups.
They signed Giampaolo Pazzini from Inter today in exchange for Antonio Cassano and €7m cash.
