Palermo keep hold of star duo

Palermo have underlined that Josip Ilicic and Abel Hernandez will not be sold to any interested club before the start of this season.

The Slovenian midfielder has been paired with a number of English teams, while Roma are long-term admirers of the Uruguayan international striker.

“Hernandez is going nowhere,” Rosanero director general Giorgio Perinetti underlined. “He is a player we are counting on, much like Ilicic.

“These are absolute talents and players who need to re-launch their own careers and the fortunes of this club.”

The Sicilian giants have again made changes to their personnel, while Giuseppe Sannino is the latest Coach to be handed the hot-seat.

“We consider ourselves to be a team who will return to good levels thanks to the organisation of Sannino,” the former Siena official continued.

“I have no need to convince the environment here about Sannino because the work he has done in the past speaks for itself.”
