New legislation permits top flight clubs in Italy to name 12 substitutes. Prandelli has welcomed the move, calling it 'a major turning point', but Cellino is unconvinced.

“We will continue to bring the previous regulation of 18 players to games,” insisted the former Lega Vice-President in Corriere dello Sport.

“It is a preposterous new regulation when the substitute count remains at three. Sooner or later the bench itself will look like a target to shoot at!”

The Miami based businessman spoke about the issue during Cagliari’s new 2012-13 kit presentation today.
