Andrea Ranocchia is ready to rebuild his reputation following a problematic 2011-12 campaign at Inter.
The 24-year-old made just 12 Serie A appearances for the Beneamata last term which led to his omission from Italy’s Euro 2012 squad.
However, the departure of Lucio to Juventus has opened the door for regular first team opportunities and he’s keen to take his chance.
“Right from day one of the training camp I got off on the right foot, but I need to work and keep on working because we're only at the start,” he told Inter Channel.
The former Bari and Genoa player seems set for a big role this term following the confirmation that Andrea Stramaccioni would remain at boss.
“Stramaccioni has been really important,” the centre-back added. “He's helped me an awful lot and he put his trust in me right from the beginning.
“My teammates at the back are also very important.”
