Do Palermo want Peluso or not?

There is confusion over whether Atalanta’s Federico Peluso is really wanted by Palermo following some contradicting statements.

The new Italian international has been linked with the Rosanero as they look for a Federico Balzaretti replacement after he joined Roma.

“It’s true that Palermo are interested,” his agent, Beppe Bozzo, told Sport Italia. “He’s also liked by Juventus and a few German clubs.”

However, when Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini was asked about his side’s pursuit of the left-back, he quickly silenced the speculation.

“We’re not chasing him, absolutely not,” Zamparini fired. “Our squad is now complete for the new season.”

It is believed that Juventus are in pole position for the 28-year-old, but they have to find a buyer for Reto Ziegler first.
