“Napoli have the advantage that they started pre-season training earlier and as a squad have been working together for many years, but I am not thinking about that,” said the Coach.

“We must face them in the best way possible. It will require a strong attitude and use our other qualities to cover the gap, as we are technically inferior to Napoli. There’s no point being arrogant and denying that.

“At this moment we cannot be harmonious and sharp, which is why I ask my men to be even more helpful to each other than usual.”

Napoli are weakened, as they are without the suspended Goran Pandev, Juan Camilo Zuniga and Andrea Dossena.

Palermo have their own issues, as Carlos Labrin and Jasmin Kurtic sit out bans, while Josip Ilicic, Lores Varela, Eran Zahavi and Andrea Mantovani are injured.

Palermo squad for Napoli: Benussi, Brichetto, Ujkani; Cetto, Garcia, Milanovic, Morganella, Munoz, Pisano, Von Bergen; Barreto, Bertolo, Brienza, Di Matteo, Donati, Migliaccio, Rios, Sanseverino, Viola; Budan, Hernandez, Miccoli
