Roma boss Zdenek Zeman has cooled reports that the club are trying to offload goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.
“I have never said that Stekelenburg is available on the market,” the Czech tactician noted after the 2-2 draw with Catania.
“I have always reiterated that I believe he is an excellent goalkeeper.”
The Dutchman was signed from Ajax last summer for a fee in the region of €6m and the 29-year-old was handed the gloves at the Olimpico last night.
The Holland international was paired with both Tottenham and Fulham last week.
