A host of deals were completed in Serie A just in time for the transfer window slamming shut.
The window closed at 18.00 UK time, and whilst the transfers of Alberto Gilardino, Gaston Ramirez and Marco Borriello to Bologna, Southampton and Genoa respectively were the most high profile, lots of other business was done on the peninsula.
Newly promoted Torino were particularly busy. The Granata have took Slovenian midfielder Valter Birsa on loan from Genoa and snapped up both 18-year-old Montenegrin prospect Marko Bakic and Cagliari leftback Alessandro Agostino on permanent deals.
Parma have loaned one striker in and one out, Venezuelan teenager Manuel Arteaga arriving at the Stadio Tardini, Feyenoord bound Graziano Pelle departing.
Juventus have sent Richmond Boakye back to Sassuolo on loan. The 19-year-old Ghanaian had featured in pre-season for the Bianconeri but has now returned to the club that he scored 12 goals for in Serie B last season.
Elsewhere Roma have confirmed the loan arrival of Uruguayan goalkeeper Marco Goichoechea, Pescara have taken veteran wingback Francesco Modesto from Parma on a temporary deal, and 21-year-old striker Leonardo Malazzi has joined Genoa from Danubio.
