Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea Consigli had an eventful evening after saving two penalties and ending up in hospital.
The Italian denied Cagliari from the spot on two occasions in the space of nine minutes after blocking attempts from Joaquin Larrivey and Daniele Conti.
He was then sent for medical checks after smashing into teammate Guglielmo Stendardo during the second half of a game which ended 1-1.
“I did well and was lucky with the first penalty and then I thought I’d go the other way for the second from Conti,” he noted.
“I’d never ever saved two penalties in the same game before…”
Consigli was taken to the Ospedale Marino, but was discharged after undergoing a number of tests. He’s set to have further checks in Bergamo on Monday.
