Atalanta’s Federico Peluso has been added to the Italy squad after Federico Balzaretti withdrew because of injury.

The left-back picked up a left thigh problem in Roma’s 3-1 win at Inter which has ruled him out of the World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Malta.

Peluso, last night sent-off in the 1-1 draw with Cagliari, won his debut in the August 2-1 defeat to England.
