Former Palermo captain Eugenio Corini has urged fans to give under-pressure boss Giuseppe Sannino some time.

The tactician’s stint on the Stadio Barbera bench has begun with 3-0 losses to Napoli in Week 1 and Lazio in Week 2.

“I think it is only right that Sannino is given backing,” the ex-midfielder stated. “Coaches don’t have magic wands and they need patience in order to work.

“Morale can drop after two League games which haven’t gone well, but you just have to get on with it.”

Corini added that he believes some problems were inevitable, especially in terms of the way the side defends.

“Almost all of the defence has changed,” he added. “There are boys there who need to be shown some faith.”
