Roma could be without Federico Balzaretti for as long as a month after he left the Italy training camp with a thigh injury.

The left-back picked up the problem during the 3-1 win at Inter on Sunday evening and had to abandon the Azzurri squad ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Malta.

Tests showed a thigh strain ranging between first and second degree in severity, which could keep Balzaretti out for up to a month.

It leaves the Giallorossi short-staffed for the left side of defence, as Dodò is also still recovering from injury.
