Fabrizio Ravanelli says he understands why former teammate Alessandro Del Piero has opted to play his football for Sydney FC.
“I think it was a footballing decision, but also a lifestyle choice,” the former Juventus hitman told Sportal.
“He wanted to experience a new way of life and Australia will offer him that.”
Ravanelli knows what it is like to play abroad after spells in England and France, but believes the No 10 will be just fine Down Under.
“Language is always the biggest problem, but Alex speaks good English,” the White Feather continued. “I don’t see any problems.”
Del Piero revealed today that he was contacted by a number of Italian clubs, but could not accept any after 19 years with the Old Lady.
“He couldn’t stay in Italy, it was practically impossible,” continued the former Italian international. “He had to go out of respect for the Juventus fans.”
