Bologna boss Stefano Pioli is hopeful that Alberto Gilardino will rediscover his goal touch at the Stadio Dall’Ara.
The Italian international moved to the Rossoblu in a loan deal on transfer deadline day just six months after moving to Genoa.
“Despite the fact that he hasn’t played that much recently, he is training well and is in good physical shape,” the tactician told Sky Sport Italia.
“He is a little short in terms of match fitness, but he has arrived at this club with a great amount of determination.
“Now we just need a bit of time to get to know each other and look to fit him into the system that we currently use.”
Gilardino has struggled in front of goal over the last year after netting six in Serie A last term – two for Fiorentina and four for Genoa.
Bologna travel to Roma this weekend.
