Jose Mourinho has given Pippo Inzaghi some precious advice in his new career. “I told him to gain experience as a Coach and start at Milan.”

The former striker hung up his boots this summer and took over as the new Allievi Nazionali youth team boss at San Siro.

“Inzaghi consulted me and I told him to start at Milan,” revealed Real Madrid manager Mourinho.

“If playing at a different level to the ones he was accustomed to would’ve been unpleasant for him, then he did well to become a Coach straight away.

“Nobody is born a Coach, as it’s not something that happens spontaneously. I told him it was better to start in his club so he could then become a tactician at a great level. You become a Coach and to do that you need to gain experience.”

Despite the fact Mourinho and SuperPippo were on opposite sides of the San Siro divide, they struck up a friendship.

“It was a source of great pride for me to have known Inzaghi during my Italian experience.”

The Italian responded to journalists and said: “I am thankful for the kind words the Special One said about me.”
