Gasperini returns to Serie A after he was fired by Inter just a few weeks into the 2011-12 campaign.
“I thank Zamparini for the opportunity he gave me. Maybe this was just the way it had to go,” said Sannino.
“I hoped to have more time in which to work, but this is football. I also thank the squad for all their efforts.”
