Milito: Goals nice, but not key

Diego Milito scored his 23rd goal of 2012 in the game against Torino on Sunday, but he insists Inter always come first.

“I always say that the most important thing is getting the three points,” the Argentine told Inter Channel.

“Then if I also happen to get on the score-sheet, so much the better. First and foremost, though, I'm happy about the win.”

Milito had a tough 2011, so much so that he was voted as the biggest flop of the year by an Italian radio station.

However, he has since re-found his goal touch and is an untouchable in the plans of boss Andrea Stramaccioni.

“I am grateful to the Coach and the club as a whole, as they have always believed in me and they keep counting on me at the age of 33,” he added.

“I feel a lot of responsibility because I have to do well out on the pitch. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you don't, but the main thing is that you never stop striving to improve.”

The club underlined their confidence in the former Genoa man in the summer by opting to sell Giampaolo Pazzini. That after Stramaccioni insisted that the two could not co-exist.
