Former Inter striker Diego Forlan has said he had no choice but to leave Italy this summer, after joining Brazilian side Internacional.
The two time La Liga top scorer failed to assert himself at San Siro last season, making 18 appearances and scoring only two goals in Serie A for the Nerazzurri.
“I played very little at Inter, so I quickly left when I heard of the possibility of moving to Brazil with my family,” the 33-year-old told Calcio News.
“I felt it was the right time for a change. I have closed that chapter in my life.
“The Brazilian league is difficult, there are six or seven teams fighting for the top four places. You have to play good football.”
Forlan has scored two goals in ten League games during his time with Internacional so far.
