Criscito: Gasperini captivates players

Zenit St Petersburg defender Mimmo Criscito has hailed Palermo's decision to hire his former boss Gian Piero Gasperini.

Gasperini is back in work almost exactly a year after being relieved of his duties by Inter, stepping into the void left by Giuseppe Sannino's sacking in the Sicilian capital.

And Italian international Criscito, who worked under Gasperini at Genoa for several years, feels the Rosanero could not have made a better appointment.

“I know Gasperini and I know for a fact that Maurizio Zamparini has made the right choice,” the fullback said in an interview with Palermo24.net.

“He is in my opinion the best buy Palermo have made this season. The players will learn to appreciate him very soon. He captivates players with work and with the beautiful game."

Criscito is sure Gasperini will be able to handle the stress of working under the demanding Zamparini.

“A Coach has only one way to cope with the pressure, to get a result. And since we are talking about a great Coach, I am convinced the results will come.”
