Stephan El Shaarawy had “many regrets” after tonight’s 0-0 draw with Anderlecht and backed Coach Massimiliano Allegri “for now.”
The Rossoneri have failed to score in all three of their San Siro outings this season, losing 1-0 to Sampdoria and Atalanta with tonight’s 0-0 Champions League draw.
“There are many regrets, as it was a tough game where we needed the three points. We gave it our all, but now must focus on the next Serie A game,” said the Italian international.
“We needed a victory to raise morale, as we haven’t won or scored in three home matches, but I and the whole team put in the effort. We can only hope things improve.”
El Shaarawy also gave his support to Allegri, albeit with less than reassuring phrasing.
“We have an excellent rapport with the Coach and for now Adriano Galliani has said he’ll remain with us, so all we can do is try to help each other and continue working.”
