Goran Pandev has underlined that he is playing the best football of his career with Serie A giants Napoli.
The forward is a highly experienced attacker after spells in Italy with Lazio and Inter, but he insists he’s never been so decisive.
“I’m feeling good, never better,” he told the Corriere del Mezzogiorno. “I’ve never been as strong as I am today.”
Pandev joined the Stadio San Paolo outfit on a permanent basis in the summer after a successful 2011-12 loan stint.
“I like the pressure and I adore the responsibility,” he added. “Napoli was the right place at the right time for me.
“I needed a ‘hot’ environment, one with expectations. I was hungry for the fans to make me feel important again.”
Pandev also praised boss Walter Mazzarri, a tactician who he has likened to former Inter tactician Jose Mourinho.
“They are two great motivators,” he commented. “They are similar in terms of character and the way they handle the dressing room.”
Pandev, 29, has scored one goal in one League game so far this term following suspension. He scored six in 30 League games last season.
