Rosanero President Mauricio Zamparini sacked Giuseppe Sannino three matches into the club’s Serie A campaign last weekend, and replaced him with the former Inter man.

“Gasperini has brought faith and tranquility to the entire squad,” said the Swiss international at a Press conference this morning.

“He has clear principals, and makes everyone understand every time so we all know exactly what we are doing.

Palermo defender Steve Von Bergen claims new Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has transmitted an aura of calm to the squad.

“We have had four training sessions, which were necessary as we quickly need to understand his objectives.”

The 29-year-old, who moved to Sicily from Genoa during the summer, commented both on his versatility in defence and the upcoming test with Atalanta.

“I have played as a full-back or in the centre, my position is not a problem in the slightest.”

“Gasperini will pick the starting XI and we will go to Bergamo to win. Atalanta will be confident as they beat Milan last week, they play well, but we will go out there to pick up the points no matter who the opposition.

“German Denis? I have played against him before; he is strong but not the only one. We know it will be dangerous anyway.

“Nine months ago I did not play in Bergamo because of the birth of my daughter so it will be my first match up there.”
