Lazio ‘keeper Federico Marchetti was satisfied with Thursday’s 0-0 Europa League draw at Tottenham.
“We knew that it would be tough,” the 2010 World Cup ‘keeper noted. “They started the game brightly, but we did well to contain them. We also had a few good chances ourselves.
“We want to go as far as possible in the Cup and this point is very precious because we are in a tough group [that also contains Maribor and Panathinaikos].
“We have a big squad this season and everyone can be protagonists.”
The capital club have been one of the surprise teams of the season after beginning the campaign with three straight Serie A wins.
However, the former Cagliari custodian has urged his teammates and the fans to remain grounded.
“We are going well right now, but the road is really long,” he said with some caution. “We just have to continue as we have been.”
