Lazio defender Giuseppe Biava believes the club's Brazilian playmaker Hernanes is playing the best football of his career.
The former Sao Paulo man has started the new campaign in sensational form and has three Serie A goals to his name already.
“Hernanes has been amazing,” Biava told LazioStyleRadio. “I have never seen him playing so well. He was the best over pre-season, and is showing it at the start of the season as well."
The veteran centre-back has also been impressed with new Coach Vladimir Petkovic.
“I like the Coach a lot. He concentrates on technique – and is very modern in that respect. He expects his teams to work for the entire match and play a more attacking style.”
The one-time Palermo man also commented on the 0-0 draw with Tottenham in the Europa League last night.
“It was a good result at a difficult ground. It is normal to come under a bit of pressure. The team kept on fighting, and we played well.
“We could have scored, but I think the draw was the right result.”
Biava is looking forward to extending the Biancocelesti's unbeaten run against another of his ex clubs Genoa on Sunday.
“Against Juventus Genoa made a very good impression, and could have won. They have two very strong attackers in Immobile and Borriello, but if we play like we know we can, we'll take the three points.”
