There will be a minute’s silence before all Italian sporting events this weekend to mark the death of former CONI President Arrigo Gattai.

Gattai passed away today at the age of 84 in Milan after a long illness.

He was the President of the CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) from 1987 to 1993.
