Edinson Cavani has issued a title warning to Italian champions Juventus. “Napoli want to win something important.”
The Azzurri joined the Old Lady at the top of the table last night after a 3-0 win over Lazio in which the Uruguayan fired a hat-trick. He also missed a penalty.
“We are a side who always want to win, we want to try to win something important this season and every game is like a Final for us,” he stated.
“Our objective was to triumph against Lazio and we did that thanks to a great display.
“We are happy because we made up for the average performance at Catania to get the three points needed to keep fighting for the top places.”
Cavani’s strikes last night mean that he now has 72 goals for the club – two more than past legends Luis Vinicio and Faustinho Cané.
“I’m really happy with my three goals, but the three points were what mattered,” added the former Palermo ace.
“We have a great squad and we all want to give our best for the fans and the city.”
