Maxi Lopez is remaining cautious about the season ahead despite Sampdoria’s fine start to the Serie A campaign.
Doria, who began the term with a one-point deduction, are currently fifth in the standings after some impressive results.
Lopez, however, is keen to underline that the side and the fans will need to keep their feet on the ground.
“Ensuring survival is our first objective,” the summer signing from Catania, via Milan, commented on Friday.
“However, we have already shown to everybody that we could go beyond that particular target.”
Sampdoria, who have benefitted from Lopez’s three goals in four games, are away at Chievo this weekend.
