Vladimir Petkovic plans “tactical changes” when Lazio visit Pescara on Sunday afternoon. “If we stay solid, we have a good chance of winning.”
The Coach has been very versatile in his systems so far this season and recently debuted a new midfield with Ederson and Hernanes together.
“I am not someone who pays too much attention to 4-3-3 or any other combination of numbers. I just say the wide men have to work in defence and attack.
“A month ago I wanted to test out new options, but injuries held us back. We do need a Plan B to adapt to various different needs.”
The Biancocelesti are fresh from a 1-0 win over Maribor in the Europa League, which put them top of their group.
“In our last two games we have not been able to impose our tempo on the opposition and were not very sharp, but you can see that the number of matches in close succession have had an effect. With all these fixtures, most teams struggle.
“We have to prove that we are capable of controlling Pescara and taking control of the game. Their strikers do not give reference points, as they are not classic centre-forwards, but if we stay solid then we have a good chance of winning.”
Ederson is an injury doubt for tomorrow’s match after picking up a muscular problem.
