Walter Samuel decided the Milan derby with an early goal, but he’s refusing to name his Inter side as title candidates.
The Nerazzurri are now joint third in the table, with Lazio, four points behind leaders Juventus and Napoli.
“It's still too early to talk about the Scudetto,” the Argentine told Sky Sport Italia. “I don't think any team is thinking about that yet.
“I'm happy and pleased with where we are in the League as well. We'll keep working to win something come the end of the season.
“We were all up for the derby and we wanted to show we could get a result. We have belief in our own ability and, although we came under pressure, we kept positive and always thought we could win the game. We need to continue in this vein.”
Samuel did run the risk of turning from hero to villain when he clashed in the box with Robinho late on in the game.
“I felt contact with him, but I think there are a lot of challenges in the penalty area and not all of them are fouls,” he argued.
“I just tried to prevent him from getting an easy shot away.”
