Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has cooled links with Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
The Italian’s Olimpico future has been placed into doubt after he was dropped from the first team for the win over Atalanta.
Amid fears that his omission has affected his long-term relationship with boss Zdenek Zeman, a January move is being speculated.
“De Rossi is an excellent player,” Ancelotti told RMC. “However, I think it was just a temporary decision taken by the Coach for a single game.
“Links with us? That is only normal. It happens to a lot of players because everyone knows that we have the power to spend certain amounts of money, but the transfer market is closed.”
De Rossi responded to being dropped by his club by scoring for his country on Friday in the 3-1 win over Armenia. See those goals here.
