Cagliari President Massimo Cellino is under police investigation for incitement to riot after calling fans to attend a Roma game behind closed doors.
The patron released a statement on September 22 urging supporters to attend the Serie A match at the Is Arenas despite the fact it had failed security checks and the tie was ordered to be played behind closed doors.
The local authorities reacted by calling off the match due to public order fears and the Disciplinary Commission handed the 3-0 victory to Roma.
It is now claimed by the Gazzetta dello Sport that Cellino is under investigation for incitement to riot due to his call for fans to attend.
Meanwhile, Cagliari have appealed against the decision to give the 3-0 win to Roma and hope to have the match re-played.
