Serie B side Novara have seen their four-point penalty in the betting scandal cut on appeal.

The club had originally been docked four points for the current campaign after some of their former players were drawn into the betting investigation.

Today the Federal Court of Appeal agreed the sentence was too harsh and have reduced the penalty from four points to just three.

There is also a €20,000 fine and Novara are now on 10 points.
