Inter chief ‘ignores’ Juventus

Inter chief Massimo Moratti has played down suggestions that his side are the League’s anti-Juventus.

The Nerazzurri are just four points behind the Old Lady and a point shy of Napoli after the latter lost 2-0 in Turin on Saturday.

“Are we Juve's main challengers? We're just focused on ourselves,” the oil baron stated outside of his offices in northern Italy on Monday.

“Saying that, of course we'd love to challenge for the title. We naturally want to perform well and I feel that we're improving with every match we play.”

Inter beat Catania 2-0 on Sunday, a result and performance which clearly satisfied the San Siro President.

“I like the fact we’ve found consistency and we're able to make tactical switches during games to adapt to our opponents, so we can best counter their strengths.

“This is the most positive aspect, along with the unity between the Coach and the players. We've got great team spirit.”

Moratti also insisted that there would be a place for Wesley Sneijder in the side once he returned to full fitness.

“Let's play him and then you'll see him perform,” Moratti noted. “We'll find room for him somewhere.”
