Lazio President Claudio Lotito has praised Coach Vladimir Petkovic after his side's 3-2 victory over Milan on Saturday.
Goals from Hernanes, Antonio Candreva and Miroslav Klose were enough to give the Biancocelesti the three points at Stadio Olimpico, and the owner of the club has congratulated his Bosnian tactician.
“Petkovic is a Coach we followed for a long time,” he told Gr Parlamento. “We asked [former boss] Edy Reja to extend his contract at the end of last season, but he declined. I met him, and instantly liked his moral qualities, character and determination.
“If the group remains cohesive and strong-willed, we will continue to give satisfaction to the fans. We should embrace what we're seeing at the moment, because we have a team that can compete with anyone.”
He also commented on two of the goalscorers from the weekend – Hernanes and Klose.
“Klose is a fantastic player. He is a champion, not only on the field but in life.
“Hernanes has great determination. We are ignoring offers from other teams, because we do not need to sell him.”
