Terrible news for Genoa and new Coach Gigi Del Neri, as star striker Marco Borriello is out for at least six weeks.
The forward limped off during the final minutes of their 4-2 home defeat to Roma on Sunday evening after spraining his ankle.
Tests have now confirmed a trauma to the right ankle with lesion to the ligament capsule. “The medical staff predicts his return to full activity will be in the region of 45 days.”
Genoa also announced that creative midfielder Cristobal Jorquera has a left thigh problem, but it remains to be seen how long the recovery process will take.
