Cosmi blames referees

Serse Cosmi has blamed officials for damaging his club’s season so far. “Siena is not Disneyland, we just want what we’re owed.”

The Tuscans started the campaign from -6 due to the betting scandal, but Coach Cosmi hints this has influenced on-going calls.

“We always knew it was going to be a difficult season, but I don’t like the climate that has developed around us,” snapped Cosmi.

“We were already penalised enough by starting from -6, but on Sunday I saw other really very unpleasant incidents.

“Massimo Paci saw a goal disallowed despite nothing happening, but I didn’t like other incidents either, such as the booking for Felipe or the ganging up on Emanuele Calaiò. He never has a free kick awarded in his favour.”

Cosmi watched the 2-1 defeat to Atalanta from the stands, as he was sitting out a touchline ban for insulting referees previously.

“Siena is not Disneyland, so we are not asking for more than we are owed, but we don’t want less than that either. I want more carefully considered decisions around our team.”

Meanwhile, there was more bad news for Siena as Ribair Rodriguez has been ruled out for a month with a left thigh strain.
