Marco Verratti has admitted that he’s been warned by Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti to not hog the ball.

The young Italian is being criticised for his keenness to dribble, especially in dangerous areas of the pitch.

“When I look back at my games, I do realise that I take risks,” the summer signing from Pescara stated to L’Equipe.

“However, on the pitch, the first thing I think about is not losing the ball and finding the right pass.

“Ancelotti has told me on numerous occasions that I shouldn’t keep the ball for too long in certain zones.

“Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva also advise me to play the simple pass. I need to take in what these champions are telling me.

“However, I am getting better even if it is obvious that I need to grow in terms of experience.”
