Roberto Donadoni and President Tommaso Ghirardi have spoken of their joy at renewing his Parma contract until June 2015.
The Coach put pen to paper this week and extended the current deal until June 30 2015.
“It is important to tie yourself to club colours. I think it is even more important, for me at least, to tie yourself to people,” explained Donadoni in a Press conference.
“We have created a certain type of rapport that really shows the choice I made today. I was very happy and flattered when the President made me this proposal, because it means there is something beyond simple results.
“This type of personal rapport influenced a great deal on my decision to say yes straight away. I am very happy and full of pride, which makes me even more motivated to push forward this project.
“I will not disguise that I am an ambitious Coach, but my ambitions are on a par with those of Parma.”
President Ghirardi also spoke at the Press conference and revealed this was a huge step for the Ducali.
“We had mentioned it a while back, then started real talks a month ago. This long-term contract is very satisfying, as it is the first time I have proposed such a long contract and that says everything on how I feel about this Coach and the staff.”
