Esteban Cambiasso believes Inter’s victory in Turin can be “the start of the road to the Scudetto” for the Nerazzurri.
Andrea Stramaccioni made clear a statement of intent when coming to the Juventus Stadium with a 3-4-3 system for the 3-1 win.
“I think the tactician took an approach that was different to those of many others. We knew what Juve’s strengths were, but were also aware we had to attack them to be a great team,” said Cambiasso.
“The opening goal after 18 seconds could’ve been a hammer blow, but we reacted so well and won the game.
“If you don’t want to suffer Juve control for 90 minutes, then you have to press them right from your strikers and we managed that thanks to the generosity of our forwards.”
Inter are now in second place and just one point shy of Serie A leaders Juventus.
“This is an important victory for the confidence the result gives us, but cannot be decisive yet because it’s so early in the season.
“There is a project in place to achieve success. This can be seen as the start of the road to the Scudetto, even though we don’t know how long that road will be. We are determined to reach our final objective.”
